Elderberry Syrup + Immune Support

The one your household reaches for when the season turns.

When a cold or the flu moves through your house, your body is already doing the work. Eden’s Leaves Elderberry Syrup is formulated to support the immune system through cold and flu season, ease the coughs and sore throats that come with upper respiratory infections, and provide the antioxidant support the body draws on while it recovers. It brings warmth and comfort to the chest and throat, supports circulation when the weather turns cold, and settles the digestion that seasonal illness so often unsettles. The flavor is mildly sweet and genuinely delicious. Support that tastes good is support that gets taken, by everyone, on the days there is no capacity for anything more.

What You Need to Know

Herbalist Guidance

  • Settling is normal in a honey-based syrup, so the bottle benefits from a good shake before each use.
  • Adults
Two teaspoons daily for ongoing support. During a cold or the flu, two teaspoons up to four times daily.
  • Children
Ages two to four: one half teaspoon, at the same frequency. Ages five to 11: one teaspoon, at the same frequency. Ages 11 and older: as directed for adults.
  • This product contains honey, and honey is not to be given to children under one year of age.
  • It can be taken by the spoonful, or stirred into a beverage or food. The enzymes in honey that provide medicinal benefits are destroyed when heated, so always add to beverages that are cooled, preferably at room temperature or below.
  • This product needs to be refrigerated after opening, and is best used within six months of opening.
  • Daily Through the Season
Two teaspoons in the morning, from the first cold week through the last. Astragalus works over a longer arc, so consistency matters more here than intensity.
  • At the First Sign of a Cold
Four times daily, held there while symptoms last.
  • Evening
Nothing in this blend is stimulating and there is no caffeine, so a spoonful before bed is a good way to soothe a throat that has been coughing all day.
  • Alongside a Warm Cup
Stirred into cooled Immune Restore Tea or Immune Strong Tea, it sweetens the cup and layers a second set of herbs alongside the first.
  • Heat degrades the enzymes in raw honey, so tea is best cooled to drinking temperature before the syrup goes in.
  • This product needs to be refrigerated. It is a honey-and-water preparation with no added preservative.
  • The syrup thickens in the refrigerator, and a few minutes on the counter makes it easier to pour.
  • A small jar travels well, which matters during heavy travel seasons.
  • Consistency does more than intensity. Two teaspoons most days through the season serves the body better than a large amount taken for three days.
  • Best used within six months of opening.

Elderberries

Sambucus nigra
Antiviral, antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, antimicrobial, diaphoretic
  • Supports the immune system through colds, flu, and upper respiratory infections, the use elderberry is best known for and most extensively studied for
  • Provides vitamins A, B, and C alongside anthocyanins, the compounds responsible for the deep color and the antioxidant activity
  • Protects cells from oxidative damage while the body recovers
  • Supports a healthy inflammatory response, including the minor aches that come with a cold or the flu
  • Used as a folk remedy for centuries across North America, Europe, Western Asia, and North Africa

Wild Cherry Bark

Prunus serotina
Antitussive, mild sedative, astringent, decongestant, digestive bitter
  • Calms the respiratory nerves and quiets a persistent dry cough
  • Found in many over-the-counter cough preparations for both its action and its flavor, which is one of the most pleasant in the herbal cabinet
  • Eases congestion in the upper respiratory tract
  • Provides gentle warmth and comfort during a cold
  • Supports digestion through its bitter action

Astragalus Root

Astragalus membranaceus
Immunomodulator, adaptogen, antiviral, antimicrobial, tonic
  • Supports immune function over a longer arc, balancing rather than stimulating
  • Held in high regard in both Western herbalism and Traditional Chinese Medicine as a deep restorative tonic
  • Supports the body’s capacity to withstand sustained stress, which quietly places demands on immune resilience
  • Supports the body’s antiviral and antimicrobial defenses
  • Best suited to consistent seasonal use rather than occasional use at the first sign of a cold

Cinnamon Bark

Cinnamomum vera
Warming stimulant, antiviral, antitussive, antimicrobial, carminative, antifungal
  • Supports the immune response to colds and flu and eases the cough reflex
  • Provides warming, circulatory support during cold seasons, and contributes the sweet warmth at the center of the flavor
  • Relaxes and soothes muscle tension
  • Eases gas, bloating, and digestive discomfort through its carminative action
  • Documented in Chinese texts for roughly 4,700 years, and valued in the first century at 15 times the price of silver

Ginger Root

Zingiber officinale
Anti-inflammatory, warming stimulant, carminative, diaphoretic, antiemetic
  • Eases coughs and supports the respiratory tract during colds and flu
  • Supports a healthy inflammatory response throughout the body
  • Eases the headaches and head pressure that come with congestion
  • Warms the stomach, supports digestion, and eases nausea

Orange Peel

Citrus sinensis
Antioxidant, carminative, aromatic, digestive bitter
  • Contributes vitamin C in whole-plant form alongside bioflavonoids, supporting the immune system
  • Brings a refreshing brightness to the flavor that lifts the deeper berry and bark notes
  • Supports healthy cortisol balance, which matters because sustained stress quietly erodes immune resilience
  • Supports digestion and eases the sensation of fullness

Rose Hips

Rosa canina and Rosa rubiginosa
Antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, nutritive, mild astringent
  • Among the most concentrated whole-food sources of vitamin C, long used in support of the immune system
  • Supports a healthy inflammatory response, including joint comfort
  • Supports cardiovascular health
  • Provides nutritive support during the days when appetite and intake fall off
  • The round fruit that sits just below the rose petals, gently tart in flavor

Natural Floral Honey Blend

Raw, unfiltered, unpasteurized
Prebiotic, demulcent, antimicrobial
  • Supports the immune system and soothes coughs and sore throats
  • Offers support during seasonal allergies
  • Prebiotic, supporting the digestive terrain that immune function depends on
  • Retains its enzymes, vitamins, and antioxidants because it is neither filtered nor pasteurized
  • Carries wildflower and orange blossom notes, sourced from small, eco-conscious apiaries
